Carrot

"hide and seek" - Rene 2009

Peach colored night
Sailor’s delight
Gypsy soul
Wrestling for control
Over
Common sense
Let’s hop the fence
And take the
Road less traveled
Just let that line
Unravel…
And the knots
Untangle
 Nobody asks
Where you’re going
Or where you been
Relax
Sit down
Take a load off
My friend...
Just let that line
Unravel
And your knots
Untangle
Don’t need to hear your
Story
Ain’t interested in your
Past
Leave your baggage
On the side of the
Road
We got no room for that
Keep your secrets
Under your
 Hat
Feed your curiosity
to the cat...
Just
Pack light
Sleep tight
We leave at dawn's
First light...
Down the road less traveled
Come let your line
Unravel
And your knots
Untangle
Follow the carrot
I dangle...
Down the road
Less traveled…

I'm with Lynn, Rene!
This is not only beautifully written, but clever, too.

I hope to see these words in print soon!

Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Great one! I love the road less traveled because the others you do find along the way are so damn interesting!

Perfect. I especially liked the allusion to the road less travelled - I'm a big fan of Robert Frost (I'm pretty sure he was a distant relative of mine.... :) )

This should be sung around a campfire. :-)

Well, Rene, I feel so redundant here after such exquisite prose but truly, brilliant poem again. I adore it.

Love this line in particular:
"Feed your curiosity
to the cat..." BRilliant.
