Dinner Dance

Out to dinner the other night
And the conversation turned to
PTA, local politics and the pursuit of genius children
Things that I really should be interested in
But I am not
My attention was pulled elsewhere
In slow motion
To a little girl
About 3 or 4
In a pink linen dress
And a white sweater
Spinning and spinning
Around and around
In her party shoes
Giggling, ice cubes in lemonade laughter
Bathed in a ray of gold
The afternoon light
Frames her face
I am captivated
By her freedom

Peace - Rene

you are right. The more they talk the worse it is. If I had a choice,I'd rather be in this little girls world free and innocent.

What a lovely and refreshing sight. Ahhh, to relive that time and know what you have would be perfection.

where is the picture of this vision? :-)

Thanks for your comments...and yes to have been able to dance with her would have been perfect

julochka...picture it in your head :) but I would have loved to have been able to photograph her. Some moments just happen so that you can totally immerse yourself and live in them... Maybe a camera would have created distance in this case...Something to think about. :)

You know...it would do us well if more adults could remember to let their stress go and spin with careless freedom.

I would try it now...but I'm afraid I would puke on my shoes.

That's what getting old does.

:)
Sunshiny day to you Rene!
